Women* Composers in Western Classical Music

Welcome to my project page about female composers in western classical art music. I collect data, sources, and literature of both historical and contemporary women* composers. The musical works of women* rarely appear in concert programmes, which may lead us to conclude that there were or are hardly any women who compose music. However, if you delve deeper into the matter, you quickly realise that exactly the opposite is the case. Therefore, an important part of my project is a repertoire list of women's flute music to make it more visible. Since this project is a work in progress, I will constantly upload my results.
